I had a dream that the president announced a war tax. It was a small tax, he said, about enough to purchase a rifle. And you didn’t have to pay it if you sent a reason why to the president. (But that was just a formaility, he didn’t actually read them.)

I thought this would be a great way to register opposition to the war: flood the White House with these letters. I also wanted to ask Raph if Quakers could pay the tax.
